Your Umrah visa process — step by step

Umrah visas must be issued through a licensed tour operator. You cannot apply independently at a Saudi consulate. We handle the entire process as part of your package, included in the price.

Who is eligible for an Umrah visa from the USA?

  • US citizensValid US passport required. Must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your return travel date.
  • US green card holders (permanent residents)Apply using your national passport plus your US green card. Both must be currently valid. We confirm the exact documents required for your nationality.
  • H1B, F1 and other US visa holdersGenerally eligible to perform Umrah. Requirements can vary slightly by country of origin. Contact us on WhatsApp to confirm your specific eligibility before booking.
  • Women of all ages travelling without a mahramSaudi Arabia now permits women to perform Umrah without a male guardian when travelling with a licensed group tour operator. All our packages satisfy this requirement.

Documents you need to provide us

  • Passport copyClear scan of the photo page. Must show at least 6 months of validity beyond your return date. If your passport expires sooner, renew before applying.
  • Passport-style photographWhite background, full face visible, no glasses, taken within the last 6 months. A digital photo sent via WhatsApp is fine.
  • Meningitis vaccination certificate (ACYW-135)Mandatory for all Umrah pilgrims entering Saudi Arabia. Must be administered at least 10 days before your arrival date. The physical certificate is checked at the Saudi border.
  • US green card (if applicable)Required for permanent residents applying on a non-US national passport. Must be currently valid.

Note: Your flight itinerary and hotel confirmations are included in your package — we provide these as part of the visa application. You do not need to source them separately.

Meningitis vaccination — mandatory for all pilgrims

Saudi Arabia requires proof of the meningococcal ACYW-135 vaccine for every Umrah pilgrim. This is a hard entry requirement — you will not be permitted to enter Saudi Arabia without a valid vaccination certificate.

Processing Timeline

How long does Umrah visa processing take from the USA?

Day 1 — You send us your documents

Passport copy, passport photo and vaccination certificate sent to us via WhatsApp or email.

Day 1–2 — We review and submit

We verify your documents are complete and correct, then submit your application to the Saudi visa authority.

Day 3–7 — Standard processing

The Saudi authority processes your application. We track progress and update you if anything is needed.

Approval — We send your visa documentation

You receive your Umrah visa confirmation. You are cleared to travel to Makkah and Madinah.

⏱ Ramadan bookings: Processing demand is significantly higher during Ramadan. Submit your documents at least 4–6 weeks before travel. We strongly recommend booking 5–6 months ahead for any Ramadan package.

Umrah visa questions from US pilgrims

Is the Umrah visa fee included in your packages?
Yes — every package includes Umrah visa processing at no additional charge. There is no separate visa fee billed to you. The total cost you see when booking covers flights, visa, hotels, transfers and all support.
Can I apply for an Umrah visa independently at the Saudi consulate?
No. Saudi Arabia requires all Umrah visas to be issued through a licensed tour operator. You cannot walk into a Saudi consulate or embassy and apply for an Umrah visa directly. This is a government requirement designed to ensure all pilgrims have confirmed accommodation and flights before travelling.
My US passport expires in less than 6 months — what should I do?
You must renew your passport before we can submit your visa application. Saudi Arabia requires a minimum of 6 months of passport validity beyond your return travel date. US passport renewal currently takes 6–8 weeks standard or 2–3 weeks expedited. Contact us — we can hold your package booking while you renew.
Can US green card holders get an Umrah visa?
Yes. US permanent residents are eligible for an Umrah visa. You apply using your national passport (not your US passport) together with your valid green card. Both must be current. Requirements can vary slightly by country of origin, so contact us to confirm the exact documents needed for your specific situation.
Can women travel to Umrah without a mahram from the USA?
Yes. Saudi Arabia now permits women of all ages to perform Umrah without a male guardian (mahram), provided they travel with a licensed group tour operator. All Umrah Package USA packages satisfy this requirement — you do not need a mahram when travelling with us as part of a licensed group.
What happens if my Umrah visa application is rejected?
Rejections are rare when documents are submitted correctly and completely. If your application is delayed or rejected, we investigate the reason immediately and re-apply where possible. If the rejection is due to factors outside our control (such as Saudi authority policy changes), we discuss all available options with you directly via WhatsApp.
How is an Umrah visa different from a Saudi tourist visa?
An Umrah visa is a specific entry category for pilgrims performing Umrah at Masjid al-Haram. It differs from a Saudi tourist visa in that it must be applied for through a licensed Umrah tour operator, and it confirms you have an organised itinerary including flights and hotel accommodation near the Haram. Tourist visas can be obtained independently but are not the correct visa category for Umrah travel.
